 Trashion Show                     3:30 - 4:30

Trashion Show-  The school  district’s art departments will be presenting a Trashion Show on the festival’s Main Stage Saturday at 3:30 pm.  The Art Club will be modeling/previewing/promoting this show during the parade. High fashion will be designed from throw-away and upcycled materials. They will create 3  mini “floats” that utilize shopping carts as armatures/chassis. A Trashion Show model will ride  each of the themed floats and other models walk alongside.

Sweet Thunder offers a unique brand of melodic jazz. While they play classics from jazz greats like Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, and Thelonius Monk, their offerings also include rhythmically dreamy originals composed by the band’s piano player, Kiera O’Hara. Their music appeals to a broad audience and ranges in style from blues to Latin to toe-tapping swing. Join Sweet Thunder for a performance that is at once soulful, tender, and celebratory. Sweet Thunder is Kiera O’Hara, piano; Mary Steele, bass; Bobbi Mihara, guitar; and Wendy McGinnis, drums.

Fools in Paradise is an eclectic 6-person group performing a variety of music on African instruments. Our traditional Zimbabwean mbira (kalimba) songs will transport you to another time and place. Our rousing marimba music from Zimbabwe, South Africa, Ghana and Guinea creates an energetic, danceable sound. Our original material combines African melodies with moving and thought-provoking lyrics. Saxophone, congas, djembe, electric

bass kalimba, shakers and vocal harmonies round out the sound. Joyful, upbeat music!
