10:00 Tanuki Taiko Japanese Drums – Tanuki Taiko (Mischievous Badger) is the teenage group of the professional Taiko Drums. A great beginning to the festival and wake-up for the community to join us!
10:30 Alexx Carnathan – An incredibly talented young pianist, Alexx first performed for the Wilsonville Festival of Arts when she was 10. Now a Wilsonville High School student, she returns to play for us again.
11:30 Tai Chi demonstration - An interactive demonstration featuring a local class from the Community Center and Xerox Corp with an ‘empty hand’ demonstration of the 24 Yang Tai Chi Form and Sword Dance by instructor James Lusk. Audience participation is encouraged. (Also Sunday at 12:00)
12:00 Innovative Dance Studio – The studio’s performing company of students aged 8 – 13 years will present dances in tap jazz, lyrical jazz and hiphop. The studio is a 10-year resident of Old Town in Wilsonville.
1:00 Studio 909 – This group is composed of a family that makes music together. Mellow jazz is their sound; Summertime, Corcovado, and Georgia are standards.
2:30 Rising Violette - Naomi LaViolette, a Wilsonville resident, is excited about doing a show in her hometown. She and Wendy Goodwin provide an evocative fusion of beauty and spunk, with a unique blend of jazz, acoustic, classical and Americana music
4:00 Mary Flower – working in intricately syncopated fingerpicking style on her bluesy slide guitar, she has earned raves from music critics for her clear vocals and guitar mastery. We are in for a treat!
5:00 Gradience - Definitely NOT your normal band. ‘Folk-punk? Indyfusion? It’s not easy to label this group, but it’s clear they are having a good time … and you will too.
10:00 John Manns - Inspired by the grand scale of the Northwest, John’s folksongs and stories paint images of the big pictures of life, love, nature and spirituality.
11:00 River City Cloggers – returning to the Festival this year, these cloggers are filled with energy and pizzazz. What a sound they make on the wood stage!
12:00 Tai Chi (see description on Saturday schedule above) - On Stage
12:30 Bug Toast - ‘Intelligent pop with a world music influence,’ says The Oregonian. This 5-piece band offers richly textured, eclectic compositions.
2:00 Philopatria – Meaning love of country - Greece and the United States – this youthful group has been dancing together for over 5 years. Dressed in traditional Macdeonian costumes, they present a colorful show.
2:30 John Manns – performs again!
3:45 Douglas Detrick Quintet – Doug is a West Linn High School and U of O grad. He writes much of the music performed by this jazz quintet.
