WACC Supports Student Artists
Each year at the Wilsonville Festival of Arts (WFA), a major attraction is the Student Art Pavilion, which features works by student artists in Wilsonville's public schools: Boeckman Creek Primary School, Boones Ferry Primary School, Lowrie Primary School, Inza R. Wood Middle School, Meridian Creek Middle School, Art Tech High School, and Wilsonville High School. We also feature many performing groups from the schools in our WFA Main Stage entertainment line-up: actors, dancers, instrumentalists, and singers.
Since the early 2000s, WACC has sponsored a Senior scholarship to benefit one or more visual or performing arts students graduating from Wilsonville High School or Arts & Technology High School. In 2016, the scholarship was renamed “The Wilsonville Arts & Culture Council White-Berry-Meekins Memorial Scholarship.” The scholarship honors the memories of three vital, former WACC board members: Dick White, Sandra Berry, and Ana Meekins.
These videos show many works that we would have featured in the Student Art Pavilion this summer, had we not had to cancel our festival. Students of Christopher Shotola-Hardt, Angennette Escobar, and Charlie Hyman. Enjoy!
